Frequently asked questions
What counts as an "active employee"?
Any employee on your synced roster who has at least one applicable notice requirement during the billing period. Terminated or inactive employees who no longer receive notices do not count toward your cap.
How does the applicability engine determine which notices to send?
The engine maps each employee's work location, employment start date, and jurisdiction-specific rules to the required notices. When regulations change or an employee relocates, the system recalculates automatically.
Can I switch tiers as my workforce grows?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time, and the new rate applies at the start of your next billing cycle. Employees beyond your current tier cap are billed at the per-employee overage rate until the upgrade takes effect.
What HRIS and payroll systems do you integrate with?
NoticeLedger connects via API or SFTP with major platforms including Workday, ADP, BambooHR, Paylocity, UKG, and Rippling. Custom integrations are available on Enterprise and PEO plans.
How long are evidence packets retained?
All plans include 7-year default retention. Enterprise and PEO plans can extend retention for an additional fee, and immutable retention controls ensure records cannot be altered or deleted prematurely.
